Amid a weather delay, more details are emerging on Jalen Carter’s ejection. The Philadelphia Eagles star was ejected from Thursday’s NFL season opener after spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Nick Harris reported Prescott spit on the ground in the “general vicinity” of the Eagles’ huddle. Carter thought it was “hostile,” and although Prescott started to explain it was not, the Eagles defensive lineman spit back.
The officials saw the ordeal and flagged Carter for unsportsmanlike conduct. They also deemed it worthy of an ejection, meaning he did not play a snap in Thursday’s first game of the year.
